Kids can explore areas as diverse as space and musical theatre at day camps. Day camps encourage growth and learning, including problem solving, critical thinking, responsibility, and more.
Sports camps are perfect for active, energetic campers. Arts camps keep children’s naturally vivid imaginations in motion. Younger campers learn more basic sports and arts skills, while tweens and teens use their budding maturity to acquire intermediate skills. Educational camps are tailored to students’ learning style and level of skill, rather than their age. Camp makes learning fun, with activities including debates, STEM challenges, and writing exercises, for example.
Traditional, multi-activity camps combine arts, sports, and educational activities. Camps empower kids, develop leadership skills and more. It helps build children’s confidence as students, workers, and individuals.
Sleepaway camps kids and teens encourage independence and responsibility. Away from home, your child learns how to make decisions, stand up for themselves, and problem solve all on their own. Kids become more grounded in their beliefs and morals, and stay true to themselves. They learn more about who they are, and build new, positive character traits in the process. Adventure and extreme activities await kids, including rope courses, zip lining, and watersports.
When choosing a camp, start out by defining your expectations and limits. This includes your expected location, price range, activities, and learning objectives. Discuss this with your son or daughter, as they may have different ideas in mind. Searching for a summer camp should be done early, as most advanced camps get booked quickly. For camps during off-season, beginning your search 2-3 months in advance is ideal.
The Our Kids Toronto Camp Expo offers the best forum to meet many different camps, speak face-to-face with leaders and gain a full understanding of your options. You’ll further understand each camps’ atmosphere, and their leaders’ values, and experience. Of course, you can also ask them all the questions you have, about camps’ safety and experience, what it is that kids learn at the camp. You can discover which camps best meet your family goals and your child’s needs.
