How to find the right camp in Cambridge

We recommend that you begin your summer camp search early in the year. Our Kids hosts an annual summer camp expo in Toronto, every February. There, you can meet with camp leaders face-to-face and learn about the experience they offer kids.  You can also use the forms in camps.ca pages linked to in the list above, to ask camps key questions.

Start with the following:

  • What does a typical day look like? Can the camp share a sample schedule?
  • Do you provide before and after care? What times do these run?
  • What training do camp counsellors get? Are they police-checked? Do they have training in First Aid, Bronze Cross, etc.?
  • What are the camp prerequisites?
  • What is the take-home from camp? What is the end goal of each session?
  • What is the age range of this camp? How are campers grouped?
