What are my camp options in Ajax?

Ajax camps include sports camps, YMCA summer camps, and academic camps. Day camps and kids’ after school programs are predominant, but we always recommend considering the value of overnight camps which bus from the region. If you commute into Toronto, consider camps that may be along your way into the city. We also feature pages on the following:

How to find the best camp for your child

The Toronto summer camp expo lets you meet multiple camps all in one place. You can learn about the breadth of options and meet with leaders and campers face-to-face. When you meet with camps there or through contact forms in profiles linked above, here are questions to ask:

  • How much does the camp focus on things my child enjoys or that they’ll learn from?
  • How are kids grouped and how big are groups?
  • How are counsellors trained or certified?
  • How do they deal with discipline and safety issues at the camp?
  • What is the goal of the camp? What will my child learn or take away, in the end?
  • What are drop off and pickup times and can they fit with my schedule?

On our sister site, OurKids.net, you’ll find a longer list of questions to ask camps.
