How to find the best Brockville camps for your family

When researching camps, we recommend that you start early in the year, preferably in January or February. You can meet with them at a camp expo, but much of your research can be done from home, from links above. When you’re reaching out to camps, here are some questions to help you get started

    • Ask the camp what a typical day looks like. Can they provide you with a sample schedule? Do they focus on activities your child enjoys?
    • Ask about counsellor training.  Confirm that all leaders are police checked.  Do they have First Aid training? Are they trained under the ASAP Camp Safety Program?
    • Ask about any prerequisites, especially for technology camps like robotics camps or coding classes
    • Ask about the camp goals. What is the proposed take-home from camp?
    • Ask about groupings.  Are campers grouped by age range? Can you meet your child’s group leader face-to-face?
    • Ask about before and after care.  What is the earliest you can drop kids off and what is the latest you can pick them up?
