At a tennis camp, the focus will be on improving your son's or daughter's game, with professional instruction on everything from serving to volleying and game play. Qualified tennis instructors provide one-on-one attention to your child. Tennis camps teach the exciting game of tennis as a hobby or profession.

A typical day at a tennis camp offers a wide variety of activities. These educational and enjoyable camps teach the mental, physical, and technical aspects of the game. Technical fundamentals and correct biomechanical instruction are taught, along with drills, games, and match play.

Tennis camps provide instruction from professionals, diversified social activities and a chance to build lasting friendships. Camps may also offer games like soccer, hockey and horse riding. The different programs involve all campers, either as a group or in age-appropriate batches.

Campers at these camps can choose from beginner to advanced level courses. Various tournaments and competitions are held every day at sports camps. Tennis camps offer junior and adult overnight and day camps. High quality venues and training are important features at tennis camps.

The camp will likely also feature a variety of non-tennis activites you might associate with a typical summer camp. Some other activities include conditioning for tennis, swimming, hot tub, archery, ropes course, arts and crafts, sand volleyball, outdoor basketball, ping pong, bumperpool, football, and lawn games. Each night, the campers participate in a variety of evening activities. Meals and many other facilities are provided at these tennis camps that may sometimes stretch over a week or even two.

Of course, there are also many summer camps that offer tennis only as an activity. Some "sports camps" might offer a variety of sports including tennis, with perhaps some instruction and training.
