In Ontario, many wilderness camps are found in and around what some people consider the last wilderness, Algonquin Park, along with other areas nearby including Bracebridge, the Kawarthas and the Ottawa Valley and as far north as Temagami.

From one camp to the next, "wilderness trips" may vary widely, anywhere from an afternoon foray into the highlands to weeklong trips into the wild to summer-long treks into the hinterland as far north as Hudson Bay.
