The Our Kids review of Camp Laureate

    our take

Combining fun, adventure, with STEAM programming is what Camp Laureate does best. The blend of science, technology, engineering, arts, math, and sports with outdoor activities like archery, hiking, field and water games, make this camp challenging and engaging. Staff are well-trained as counselors, but also professionals in their fields outside of camp. They are made up of local teachers, business owners, coaches, and childcare workers. Not only will kids learn STEAM programs, they’ll learn it from those who are experienced and skilled in their respective fields. There are quite a few speciality camps to choose from, so kids can focus on what interests them the most. Run by Laureate College, Camp Laureate is located on 50 acres, backing onto the Bruce Trail. Campers will have plenty of room to roam, although the many activities will keep them wanting to stay close. A fairly new camp, no detail was overlooked in the making of Camp Laureate as a one-of-a-kind camp experience.

    A great experience for campers!

I had the opportunity to work at Camp Laureate last summer. It was a blast! My favourite day at camp was when we had a water day. We build a slip n' slide on the big hill, had a water balloon fight between campers and staff and played a camp wide game of everybody's it tag. The campers really enjoyed any competitions with the counsellors. It was awesome to see the campers all engaged and having fun. Both campers and staff really enjoyed the theme days and special guests. I got to teach the camp the Mexican hat dance. It was so cool to see the campers learning new things each day. I recommend any families to take a chance on Camp Laureate, you will not regret it ... Show More

    Amazing Week

I can not speak highly enough of Camp Laureate!! My son had a rough start to his first day but it was quickly turned around by an impressive, truly engaged and caring staff. This year's group of mature young adults led by an even more amazing camp coordinator gets four thumbs up from myself and my son. My son raved about the daily activities and the special guest, Brown's Kickboxing, that came one day!! We will definitely be registering again next year. Thank you for an amazing week! ... Stories

    • Bullseye Breakthrough: Sam's surprise Victory at Camp Laureate

At Camp Laureate, where the scent of pine mingles with the thrill of outdoor activities, this summer witnessed an extraordinary moment. In an unexpected twist, camper Sam stepped up to face off against the unbeaten camp director, Katie, in an archery competition that left everyone on the edge of their seats. Known for her unparalleled skill, Katie had remained undefeated against both staff and campers, making Sam's triumph all the more surprising. With a perfect shot hitting the bullseye, Sam not only secured an unexpected victory but also etched their name into Camp Laureate's history, challenging the notion that some traditions are meant to be broken.
