Campers aged 8-13 will get to participate in an engaging hands-on experience, run by our specialist staff, which is aimed at getting campers comfortable in the kitchen. Campers of all experience levels will love getting into our camp kitchen to whip up delicious treats! In this program, campers will get to try their hand at prepping ingredients and cooking new foods that they are sure to love. There will be a focus on kitchen safety and culinary skill building for tasks such as measuring, food handling and knife handling. Throughout the week, campers have the opportunity to bring home their cuisine. A digital cookbook will be shared at the end of the summer with all the recipes. Campers are encouraged to come to camp decked out in their favourite apron and bring a reusable container with them to bring home their creations to share (if they leave you any!) Chefs in the Kitchen campers will also enjoy other activities that Camp Laureate has to offer, including traditional day camp activities, theme days, special guests, hot lunches and more!  Campers should expect to spend at least half of the day in the kitchen cooking up a storm! These spaces are sure to fill up quickly, so register now!

Week 5: Aug 5-8= Fresh and Flavourful

Week 7: Aug 18-22= Street Eats



Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Independence: This program teaches campers the skills they need to motivate them to continue to peruse their interests independently. They will learn basic culinary skills with a focus on kitchen and food handling safety.
  • Creativity: Campers will love learning in our camp kitchen. They will get to explore new foods, skills and preparation techniques.
