    At Winning Techniques Camp, we believe growth goes beyond sports—it’s about building character. Our Adventure, Figure Skating, Hockey, Intense Water Sports and Leadership programs create the perfect environment to develop confidence, discipline, and teamwork.     Registration Details

    Applications and registrations for Winning Techniques Camp can be completed online, by email, or over the phone. Registration is limited and processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so early sign-up is encouraged. Once your registration is accepted, a confirmation email will be sent. Our team is always available to answer any questions and ensure a smooth registration process for both parents and campers.

    our take

    Personal growth and deepened self awareness are the raison d’etre for Winning Techniques. Set in the country north of Huntsville, the camp offers a variety of fun programs teaching hockey, figure skating, and water sports, but the true focus is on imbuing kids with kindness, integrity, courage, respect, responsibility, and teamwork skills. Campers are rewarded and recognized for exhibiting those traits in camp activities, reinforcing those values. Adam and Kim Grin are the preternaturally vibrant optimists behind this unique focus on promoting positivity. Leadership development and adventure are also critical to their programs—and they also have camps dedicated to each of these. Over twenty years and counting, the camp has deepened their reputation for character growth, and families attest to the lasting lessons their kids have taken away.

  • Director's Message

    Together we founded Winning Techniques Camp over twenty years ago as a place for young people to learn and grow. Throughout the years, our camp has evolved into a “family” in two ways. First, our children, Carl and Elly, have grown up in camp, and found their own special fit here. Now, our family has also extended to all of those who spend their summers with us at camp. We are so humbled that our camp has become what we envisioned for it so many years ago: a place of inclusion and acceptance where confidence, happiness and friendships bloom.

    Being the Directors of Winning Techniques Camp is much more than a job for us. Our passion is in providing a safe, fun, and exciting place for positive growth, and we put everything we can into making sure our camp is just that. Overall, we want to inspire kids to be the best they can be. Together we bring over 65 years of experience in coaching and mentoring children to our roles as Camp Directors. We aim to teach more than athletic skill – we believe in motivating people to try their best, reach their goals, and learn valuable life skills through sport.

     

    In 2020 our family completed a circumnavigation of the world aboard Sailing Vessel Grin.

    Staff and Counsellors

    At Winning Techniques Camp, we have a diverse team of Canadian and International staff who are qualified, certified, and experts in their fields. Camp Counsellor are graduates of our Leadership program and hold certification in First Aid, Bronze Cross, ORCKA, WHMIS and they have special training for Archery, Aerial Park, Trampoline and age-appropriate games. Our programs are taught by professional coaches, who are “Coach Canada” (NCCP) certified, and the instruction is world-class. Our waterfront is supervised by Lifeguards

    More details about accommodations: The camp features clean and comfortable living spaces for our guests, with a spacious main lodge and social centre, dining hall, arts and crafts room, tuck shop and bunkhouse and cabins.

    Is Winning Techniques Camp technology free? Campers are encouraged to connect with nature and enjoy our beautiful setting in Northern Ontario. However, we understand the need to connect to families and friends - our policy at the moment allows campers one hour of WiFi in the morning before breakfast, and one hour after supper.
