The Our Kids review of Steel Peak Climbing & Ninja

    our take

Kids who want to be challenged at camp should consider Steel Peak Climbing & Ninja. For all abilities and levels, they offer indoor rock climbing, ninja warrior, obstacle courses, and more. Personal growth is expected, as well as many friendships made. The instructors are passionate about what they do, and easily engage and push the kids to their limits. And the kids love it. Kids gain confidence from taking risks and seeing what they can actually do, climbing higher, jumping further, and breaking the barriers they thought they had. The atmosphere is very welcoming and so positive. The facilities at Steel Peak are extensive, and allow kids to try a number of different climbing and bouldering activities, as well as the highly-rated ninja warrior course. Kids interested in taking it further can learn about careers in climbing and can even compete in national events. Steel Peak is a program for kids who want to push themselves, take risks, and get their body moving in ways that aren’t typical at other camps.

After that, there is a 30 minute refreshment break in the party room and the final 45 minutes is on the ninja warrior course. The harnessed rock climbing and ninja course will be closed to the public while your group is doing those activities. Rock climbing shoes and chalk are not provided for birthday parties and are not required. Rock climbing harnesses are included in the birthday party package. Offers outdoor education program for schools or corporate groups: Yes
Our school group program is a perfect blend of instruction and hands on experience. Students are taken through four different stations to experience everything we have to offer. Station 1: Bouldering: Students will be introduced to bouldering, a style of rock climbing that takes place on shorter walls with crash pads, and without the need for a rope and harness. A climbing instructor will guide them through climbing safety and fundamental movements. Station 2: Ninja Warrior: Students will be introduced to our Ninja course and can try a variety of obstacles, including classic obstacles from Ninja Warrior Junior such as the warped wall with the assistance of our Ninja coach. Station 3: Auto Belay: Students will be introduced to traditional roped climbing on our auto belay wall. This style of climbing has taller walls, and athletes use a rope and harness. A climbing instructor will guide them through how to put on and use a harness, how to use a locking carabiner, and how to operate an automatic belay. Station 4: Careers in Climbing: Students will learn about the many career opportunities in the world of climbing and athletics. We'll touch on a range of careers in indoor/outdoor climbing such as route setters, mountain guides, and coaches, as well as important supporting roles such as physiotherapists. Contact [email protected] for more details.
