Financial literacy camps are targeted at different age ranges. They start as young as 10 for introductory financial concepts. Camps for the younger set focus on making the subject fun but still include a full immersion in understanding the world of finance and money. More advanced camps bring together larger groups of teens to learn about advanced concepts in finance, business, government, and economics.
In this kind of camp, the camp provider or company dictates the sophistication you can expect. For example, some camps are taught by international organizations, financial institutions, or universities. These more advanced camps look great on a university application and can help campers and students on their way to a lucrative career in the financial world. Dive into the camps linked above to discover what they offer.
Camps are teaching this that start as low as $100 for a one-week session, but camps taught with more expertise range from $350 up to $595. Camps for more advanced learners that involve day trips and excursions will cost more than $1000. All camp is an investment in your child’s future. Every camp experience is an unfair advantage you give your child.
If you’re in the Toronto area, the best way to learn about camps is by attending the Toronto Camp Expo held every February in the downtown core. Whether you are meeting camps there or at any other event (such as an open house) here is a list of questions to get you started:
When you shortlist camps, combine those with detailed questions to help you qualify camps.
