(5) Overall experience

The first time I enrolled the kids for the camp, they were not super excited until they attended the first day. My girls came home and couldn’t stop talking about all the wonderful new concepts they learned. My son was proud of the responsibility he was given as an LIT. I was as excited as they were because it was a weeklong camp and I knew they were going to benefit greatly from going back to the camp daily. When I had the opportunity the next year, I sent them again.

(5) Reason for choosing the camp

The name of the camp attracted me. I was looking for something that will build character in my kids. The kids attend a free monthly meeting organized by the same party so I knew that the great experience they already have at the meetings would only be multiplied. The investment was really worth every dime. There were no hidden charges.

(5) Program quality and activities

I was attracted to the camp's theme, which was character building and leadership. I want my kids to build character and become leaders wherever they find themselves, so yes, the camp aligned with my expectations. The program not only teaches younger kids character but also provides real-time mentors in youth leaders who are themselves students of character. This technique provides a unique opportunity for learning to take place on different dimensions and levels.

(5) Social dynamics and experience

My kids had an opportunity to build new friends within the groups they were divided into. Although there were periods when all the kids came together, for the most part, they worked within groups and were forced to work with the unfamiliar until it became familiar, and those relationships thrived. Everyone felt welcome. No one felt out of place. Because the focus was character building, issues like bullying did not even have room to grow.

(5) Skills and growth

Everything about this camp is about character building. From the kids setting up their learning places to clearing it up afterward. It was interesting to see how well-behaved the kids were during the camp. They were eager and had a desire to please and to demonstrate their learning. These characteristics were not left behind in the camp. The kids grew in leaps and bounds, watching their words and their behaviour when they got home. Being conscious of one’s responses and reactions was an important skill the kids gained.

(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors

The management was very responsive but more so, they were perceptive about sharing information. Everything was curated: What to expect, what would happen next, and even a summary of what was learned daily. It was very well administered. The second point was the unique nature of teaching youth how to organize. It was beautiful to see the kids given the responsibility to manage conflict between the younger ones and how they were guided through it.

(5) Advice and tips

Amazing camp. I highly recommend. If you are looking to teach your kids some discipline and help them build character, this is the camp for you. If you are looking to teach young adults how to become leaders, this is the camp for you. I have no regrets about it and would continue to send my kids for as long as they are able, because there is an age restriction.
