(5) Overall experience

Emmanuel is seven and very attached to me. I had to practically do everything for him from tying his shoelaces to cuddling him to sleep. Now not only can he tie his laces, but he refuses my help when I offer cause we're running late. He's able to brush his teeth at night and go to bed without prompting and no tantrums. He reads and writes now without throwing a tantrum and hardly fights with his sister. Yes he'll be going back to the camp

(5) Reason for choosing the camp

I know some families that have attended the Leadership Programme and the Personalized Coaching with amazing results and I have experienced phenomenal changes in my children. My son hardly throws any more tantrums. My daughter now makes healthier choices as a foodie. There were no hidden costs. The results have definitely been worth it.

(5) Program quality and activities

My children are always excited to attend the next session. My seven-year-old, who never liked reading, has read through books so fast that buying became an expensive venture. I dont buy books anymore but rather rely on the local library and school library to feed his new voracious reading skills. My daughter who is a big 12-year-old (5 feet 10) is now making healthy food choices and enjoys more of her veggies and fruit.

(5) Social dynamics and experience

No, there were no issues or incidents with bullying at all. They did make new friends and already had existing friendships that were also part of the camp, which they were able to strengthen because here they were learning life skills and etiquette together. They learned that there were more meaningful ways to be friends through learning, play, and activities. They became wholesome and well-rounded.

(5) Skills and growth

My seven-year-old became self-sufficient. He now makes his bed. He gives himself a bath even though I still supervise. He dresses himself up and has also become responsible in how he proudly cleans up after himself. These are things I used to do for him. My 12-year-old is not as disorganized as she used to be. She now keeps her room tidy and knows where all her stuff is.

(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors

A lot of things stood out. They showed the children love because my children were very comfortable in that space. The communication was by mail, Zoom, phone, and face-to-face. There was never conflict but there was an issue of rudeness from my 12-year-old. I was privileged to be present when Ms. Ifedayo handled it. Not only was she calm, she was also firm, and in that moment I, as a mother, also learned and benefited from the program.

(5) Advice and tips

The only advice I can give to anyone wishing to give the camp a try is to jump in. There would be no regrets as the children would come back as winners with wholesome characters, as the name connotes. I honestly thank God my children have the opportunity to participate. My home is not as chaotic, now, and my children, even though they are work in progress as children, are happier and more responsible. Most importantly I don't yell as much.
