The Our Kids review of uOttawa Engineering Outreach

    our take

Kids who want to explore science, technology, and engineering should look no further than uOttawa Engineering Outreach. They offer courses, camps, and clubs for those interested in STEM. What’s unique about them is that everything they do is hands-on and they visit real laboratories on campus to do experiments. Kids get a feel for what it’s like to be a real scientist and actually get to see real research being done by the faculty. They also boast the latest and best technology for exploration. All of their staff are current university students studying related fields and who know how to work with kids. The goal of this course is to make science fun for kids so they want to take their STEM education further. The skills they come out of the courses with include real-time problem solving, taking risks with their ideas, and just that science can be fun.

    Variety of activities

The variety of activities offered was impressive and my daughter loved attending. She was excited every evening to tell us about her day. She is eager to go back next summer.

    Awesome camp leaders

The quality of programming and the enthusiasm/ attentiveness from the camp leaders have made this an excellent experience for our boys. They attended a week before Covid which they really enjoyed and it was nice to see them have the same appreciation for this week. I regret we have registered for only one week. Looking forward to next summer. Thank you for a well designed program ... Show More

    Summer credited course

I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to come to uOttawa and take this course. Not only was it interesting, but it was fun and important. I am also glad to have gotten a high school credit. Though not related to the course, being able to get familiar with a university campus and traversing across the city was helpful and taught me a lot about how life might look after high school ...
