The Summer Immersion Program is a unique way for adolescents to immerse themselves in the environment and many fields of study at the University of Montreal. For 2 weeks in July, teens from 14 to 17 enjoy an immersive campus experience, as they take workshops, participate in language, cultural and sports activities, and visit sights on and off campus. The price includes everything except airfare and pocket money.

We make sure teens stay busy throughout their 2-week stay, with plenty of time to relax and connect. From Monday to Friday, mornings are devoted to themed workshops that change based on the 2 profiles each participant selects, whereas afternoons offer a daily mix of language, sports or cultural activities. Weekends are reserved for group outings and free time to recharge!

Profile choices and typical workshops include :

  • Arts and culture: art history, cinema studies, industrial design, etc.
  • Humanities: anthropology, education sciences, psychology, etc.
  • Innovations in health: biopharmaceutical sciences, molecular biology, neuroscience, etc.
  • International affairs: environmental law, international studies, political science, etc.
  • Science and technology: computer science, neuroscience, entrepreneurship,  etc.

A typical day for a participant who chooses Innovations in Health as one of his or her profiles might look like this:

  • A 2-hour workshop in the morning on one of the featured topics, for example Oncology or Drug Development in the field of Biopharmaceutical Sciences
  • Lunch and free time on campus
  • A 1-hour language activity to explore a new language in a fun, immersive context
  • Afternoon spent doing a cultural or sports activity, such as visiting a local museum or rowing a dragon boat
  • An evening out in the city to attend an outdoor festival

Activities change daily and weekly based on selected profiles.

Please note that activities are subject to change.

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Curiosity: Curiosity drives exploration, helping teens fully embrace their immersive stay on a francophone university campus. It sparks engagement with new cultures, languages, and ideas, encouraging personal growth, connections with peers, and a deeper understanding of the world and themselves.
  • Responsibility: Teens must manage their time, respect rules, stay organized, and navigate new experiences independently, fostering personal growth and making the most of their academic and cultural opportunities.
