Our march break program provides an intensive one-week literacy curriculum comprised of the Fundations Ready to Rise Literacy Program created by Wilson. Components of the program include word study (phonemic awareness, alphabetic principle, high frequency word recognition), handwriting and spelling (letter formation and automaticity, spelling, punctuation), and application (fluency with connected text). A minimum of 150 minutes of direct literacy instruction is provided daily. The camp is offered in a small group setting with a student ratio of no more than 1:6 during instructional times. Smaller groups come together for themed play sessions offered between the academic blocks (e.g., making slime, crafting, games, science experiments, building, etc.).
This camp is designed for students currently in Grades SK to 3. Students are separated into small groups based on their literacy abilities during literacy instruction times.
