Highly recommend this swim school!! My son just turned 7 yrs, joined this school burnaby location from spring session 2024 and by summer session he went to next level. He can manage in water without support now in 3-4 months of training. My son has never been in water before. There teaching technique is very unique and the 1 hr session twice a week really helps the child to learn effectively. The instructors are very professional , strict to see that every child is learning but also friendly so that the kids feel comfortable. They are also very professional with timings. It is with our greatest pleasure that we give the ISWIM team of coaches a five star review. From day one to the last day, the coaches showed professionalism, enthusiasm, care, support and dedication to each child. I’ve watched each coach help my children and others dig deep and push harder past insecurities and “can’ts” I am impressed that the children have been receiving training befitting of a swim club/special athletes. Best swimming lessons with professional teachers who are teaching and caring using different approaches and techniques. Our girls were swimming from the first lesson and making progress so fast, we are so impressed. Can’t even describe how happy we are to see their fast progress and happy faces after lessons. ISWIM provides top-notch swimming instructors in the Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley region. Our child progressed from a beginner to an advanced level, prepared for any swim team, in just 7 months. It was definitely worth the investment. The instructors instilled discipline and a competitive spirit during her time with them. Alexey and Aliya make an outstanding team, utilizing professional methods and regular races to achieve great outcomes for their students. Prior to ISWIM, our child had minimal improvement despite attending other swimming schools in the area at a similar cost. We are grateful for ISWIM's hard work and commitment! My son was attending swim lessons at a different school and I was tired of always getting different instructors and not advancing. My son is on the Spectrum, I was very nervous at first but coach Alexey was wonderful! He demonstrated kindness. He was patient and was very knowledgeable about different teaching methods. I would say that my son learned a lot in a few sessions with coach compared to the year that we had from the other swim class. We have tried every type of swimming classes: group lessons with City of Burnaby and Pedalheads, private lessons with City of Burnaby and Propel, and none compare to iSwim. I don’t know how I missed this swim school in my search but am I ever glad I found it. iSwim does a few things differently than other swim schools. They use short fins and hand paddles, which I have never seen used anywhere else. Coaches are also on deck which allows them to see students and correct any issues with technique. The coaches are encouraging and dedicated. The lesson is one hour long and the coaches work the students the full hour; no slacking on anyones part. It’s so rare to see this type of exceptional work ethic and it translates to the students levelling up themselves. Each class begins with a warm up on deck with core and body weight exercises, swim techniques followed by laps in the pool practicing various swim styles. Students are constantly monitored by the coaches and corrected in a timely manner to make sure they use the proper techniques and don’t develop bad habits. I love the fact that students swim twice a week for an hour so they really accelerate their swimming skills to become confident and efficient swimmers. The owner is a former Olympian and I really see the deliberate practice implemented at his swim school. Heads up for those who go to Fitness 2000 in Burnaby, the facility looks like it needs a major facelift but OVERLOOK that fact to watch your kid EXCEL and THRIVE with iSwim. I heard lots of my friends complaining that community center swimming lessons are just a waste of time and money. Their children showed very limited progress even after years. Therefore I decided to register my 4-year-old for private lessons with ISWIM after reading all the positive reviews on Google and I am so glad that I did so! My son now can float and swim a little bit all by himself only after 3 lessons with coach Alexey. He is such a wonderful and patient teacher who does everything he can to help accommodate our special needs. I just hope they will have 30-minute lessons that will work better with younger kids in the future. But we will definitely recommend ISWIM and coach Alexey to anyone who would like to learn swimming in a most efficient way. And we will come back again ... Show More

This is a long overdue review . I have been attending swimming lessons with iswim since 3 months now(1-2 times a week.) Coach Nikolai and coach Aliya have been coaching me. They are amazing instructors who are really patient and knowledgeable. Being new at swimming , I have learned a lot about swimming and have gotten to be more comfortable in the water. They have always been willing to help me improve and been resourceful in helping to adjust to swimming given I definitely don’t have a swimmer build. ( a bit on the heavier side) . I also like the fact that their swimming lessons are really private therefore no onlookers “being in your business” while you are trying to build some confidence whether it is in the water or by just being at the swimming pool. That being said if you thinking of improving your swimming or taking up a new hobby definitely give them a try ... Show More
