Bring your leadership skills to the next level! This experience is ideal for those looking to explore a new culture, make new friends, and get hands-on experience in sea turtle and marine conservation through volunteer work. Learn from local leaders and meet teens from across North America (and the world!) as you spend two weeks working, playing, and learning together in beautiful Costa Rica.
Annually, leatherback and green turtles migrate to the shores of Costa Rica to lay their eggs. Unfortunately, poachers steal these eggs to profit on the black market. Despite being illegal in Costa Rica, enforcement is challenging without the active involvement of the local community. Join forces with a community-led sustainable sea turtle hatchery to work on projects supporting various species of sea turtles and other ocean life. Engage in beach clean-ups, conduct surveys of nesting areas, and play a vital role in raising awareness within the community.
In our downtime, we'll explore the most biodiverse country on earth through hiking, boating, swimming, and zipline! Learn about Tico culture, practice your Spanish, and get up close and personal with unique wildlife. We'll also dive deep to discover our individual paths, including exploring our leadership styles and professional and educational goals for the future.
