Costa Rica: Spanish Service Adventure

Bring your Spanish skills to the next level! This experience is ideal for those looking to explore a new culture, make new friends, and put their language knowledge to the test with native speakers. Learn from local leaders and meet teens from across North America (and the world!) as you spend two weeks working, playing, and learning together.

In the mornings, we'll wake early for our Spanish classes--which level you are in is determined with a placement test. Some days, you'll learn in a classroom; other days, we'll strike out into the community and learn through scavenger hunts, market visits and cultural workshops. In the afternoons and weekends, enjoy our beautiful Home Base, go on a zipline excursion, hike through Poás Volcano National Park and explore the ocean via catamaran. 

It's not a GLA program without a service component: yet another opportunity to speak with locals! Volunteer on community-led  projects that partner with local schools to provide support in a variety of ways — from infrastructure refurbishment to language and intercultural exchange with local students. This way, you can leave a legacy behind that you’ll be proud of. We'll also dive deep to discover our individual paths, including exploring our leadership styles and professional and educational goals for the future.
