Peru: Foundations of Global Health

Bring your leadership skills to the next level! This experience is ideal for those looking to explore a new culture, make new friends, and get hands-on experience in the field of public health and medicine through volunteer work. Learn from local leaders and meet teens from across North America (and the world!) as you spend two or three weeks working, playing, and learning together. 

In the mornings, we'll wake early and head to the service site, where we'll assist the international nonprofit organization MedLife with pop-up clinics and work on infrastructure projects designed to promote education and access to healthcare in rural Cuzco-area villages. After lunch, relax at the Home Base, learn more about Peruvian culture through music workshops or dance classes, take a traditional cooking class or hear from local leaders and professionals on a variety of topics. 

We'll also take an excursion to the iconic Machu Picchu; three-week students will hike Rainbow Mountain.
