(5) Overall experience
JUMP! provided my child with a safe and supportive environment for them to experience their first overnight camp away from home. The staff were knowledgeable in outdoor safety and great at connecting with the students. I love their philosophy of using outdoor adventure to encourage people to step out of their comfort zone. The challenges provided allowed my child to explore their resiliency and learn to trust themselves. JUMP! fosters a sense of community based on connection and acceptance. My Child was so excited to return that we had to book the next course right away!
(5) Reason for choosing the camp
I volunteered at this camp as a teenager and was excited for my child to have a chance to experience the magic of JUMP! (known to us older alumni as EDUCO). I found that JUMP! has the ability to reach kids on a deeper level and support their personal growth in a way that other camps simply cannot. I think the costs are proportionate to the experience the students receive at camp, so I think it is absolutely worth it.
(5) Program quality and activities
My child loves the outdoors so this camp was wonderful for them. Rock climbing, high ropes, canoeing, camping, it was everything they were looking for in a camp. The staff at JUMP! is what makes the experience so special. The staff are able to support, challenge, and appreciate each student and meet them where they are at. Each student's accomplishments are celebrated whether they get to the top of the rock wall or just to the first hold.
(4.5) Social dynamics and experience
My child did not have any major issues with others while at the camp. If any small problems came up the staff were able to help students work through their problems. My child enjoyed getting to know new people and meeting other students from elsewhere in British Columbia. It will be neat to see if some of them end up together again at camp.

My child was able to focus on challenging themselves away from the safety net of parents. I believe that this camp helps foster his independence and resiliency. The biggest challenge that they faced was being away from home for an extended period of time, but they were able to overcome any worries with the help and guidance of the staff.
(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors
The staff at JUMP! were great to communicate with. They were quick to answer emails and available for any questions or concerns. Instructions for pick up and drop off were clear and easy to follow. I had a positive experience with everyone I communicated with, every step of the way.
(5) Preparation and packing
The packing list provided was thorough and we did not find that there was anything that was missed. We were able to pack exactly what was needed in case of any weather. We made sure to send some thermal shirts and leggings in case it got cold overnight in the cabins or while tenting.

If you are looking for a transformative experience for your child where they can take risks and challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment, then this is the camp for them. Your child will come back more confident in themselves. JUMP! is a great experience. After you hear about all the things they did, you will wish they hosted an adult camp too.
