This 5-week program is designed to introduce children to marine exploration and make connections between what we know and what could be discovered.

Through weekly discussions and hands-on activities we will explore:

Ocean layers and what exists there
How creatures survive (blubber experiments)
The ocean floor & the Mariana Trench
Warm vents and underwater volcanoes
Design - what could be possible

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

Curiosity: Science has enabled us to map out 26.1% of the ocean floor with only 5% actually explored. Using what we know, children will be encouraged to imagine what is left to be discovered?
Creativity: Together students will research, design and create the layers of the ocean, the wall of the Mariana Trench and Sea floor, under water vents and volcanoes and create a creature they think may still be waiting to be discovered.
