The Leadership 2:Island Leaders In Training (LIT) program is one of two options for Leadership 2. The Island LIT program provides practical experience working with youth through cabin and program placements in the camp environment, furthering participants’ development in their leadership, teamwork, program facilitation and planning skills. As part of their program placement, they will also take part in a 4-day canoe trip to expand their tripping skills. Campers have the opportunity to earn a high school credit.
Character Development: This program helps build the following traits
Interpersonal skills: Our campers participate in activities that encourage communication, empathy and cooperation, all in a supportive and safe environment.
Responsibility: Campers participate in team building activities and leadership exercises that require accountability and foster decision-making skills. Campers learn the importance of their actions and leadership through guided reflection and mentorship.
