Whitchurch Equestrian Summer Camp, for beginner to intermediate and advanced riders! Campers master the basic skills of English-riding independently in a safe lesson environment, while focusing on safety. Additional horsemanship activities include grooming, tacking, feeding, and horse care. Other fun fun activities round out a full day

Experienced riders are challenged with advanced disciplines and equestrian activities that include nutrition, show grooming, basic first aid for horses, and more! Equestrian disciplines include dressage, jumping, mounted games & musical rides.

Our camp program runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm weekdays, and on the first day we group campers according to both age and riding level (beginner, intermediate & advanced). They are fully occupied for the entire time, and during both of their 1-hour formal lessons each day riders master skills in a safe environment. There is also an hour of horsemanship which includes equestrian activities such as horse care, grooming, tacking, feed, nutrition, fun rides, and horsemanship games! This immersion both on and off the horse allows for critical bonding with the animal, leading to both confidence and safety, and allowing children to excel in their learning.

The overall program includes a wide variety of other fun equestrian activities, in addition to the formal riding lessons, horsemanship periods and arts & crafts. We also groom activities on a daily basis to the age and interest of every group and level. Usually the older kids want to spend more time in the barn and with the horses, so we accommodate that. While younger kids need to chill out in the shade and rest with some art & crafts activities. We certainly listen and make sure everyone has a great horse camp experience!

Our equestrian day camp has been operating for forty years, and we're an accredited member of the Ontario Camps Association (OCA), Ontario Equestrian Federation, and Equestrian Canada. We specialize in riding all year round, and lessons are taught by qualified instructors.

Responsibility: It takes a lot of work to care for an animal, and our horses work hard so we encourage each rider to take responsibility for their horse and it's environment by making sure it has every it needs to do it's job!
