Design a 3D Dinosaur: Students will kick off the camp by modeling actual simple characters iusing a wide range of techniques and tools. A great introduction to Blender, the open-source program we will be using throughout the week.
From Cubes to Characters: With a few modeling techniques in their back pockets, students will now be able sketch out their own characters and create 3D model in order to to prepare them for action.
Move it Along: 3D models aren’t just for statues - you can make them move as well! Using the power of keyframe animations, students will put their characters into motion on screen.
Animate, Animate, Animate! Students will work together on an animated short movie and work on bringing their storyline to life on screen.
Compilation and Movie Premier: Stitching together everyone’s scenes into a cinematic masterpiece, students will be able showcase their final movie to their family and friends.
Students should bring their own laptops AND mice (trackpads do not work very well for 3D modeling).
Students should try to install and run Blender on their computers prior to camp.
If you want to borrow a laptop and mouse from us, we have a VERY limited number available. Please email us to request one.
