Radiant Girls offers empowerment camps and leadership programs for tween and teen girls. Our camps focus on teaching yoga, cooking, leadership skills, emotional intelligence, confidence, kindness, mindfulness, self-esteem, and team building. We aim to help young women grow into confident, kind, and empowered individuals.

The Culinary Queens camp goes beyond our culinary activities and includes our entrepreneurial content, leadership skills, and creative programming. Along with a hearty day of cooking nutritious and delicious food, these girls will work together to design their own restaurant. Throughout the week, the girls will create a restaurant name, business theme, cafe design, atmosphere, and menu. Girls will be exposed to foods from different countries, fun cooking techniques, and healthy fresh ingredients with hands-on experience all week.

On the final day, the girls will host a "grand opening" of their restaurant, complete with a meal for parents to enjoy. Girls will leave with new knowledge of great-tasting healthy choices, and newfound favourite foods, wrapped in an entrepreneurial spirit and leadership experience.

This is NOT actually a camp!

This is a personal development program designed specifically for girls.

Our program's essence comes from the desire to teach girls the framework for success and happiness to start off right! Each segment of the day incorporates strategies from NLP, CBT, DBT, and the best minds in psychology - like Tony Robbins, Byron Katie, Brene Brown, and Abraham Hicks - just to name a few! Our programs are not intended to be fun and easy. We will push, challenge, and stretch girls to discover their strengths, and face their fears. Some of our activities are designed to have them struggle, get stuck, and maybe even fail. Experiential learning is the basis of everything we do. It's designing a controlled environment for learning by experience and guiding reflecting for understanding. Bringing a group of girls together, and getting them out of their comfort zones isn't always smooth sailing (especially on day 2!), but by the end of the week, these girls are genuinely proud of themselves, with new skills, tools, and solid support system of friends! Imagine what the world would be like if all girls had the chance to discover these skills!

Our Mission & Philosophy

How our programs improve girls lives

Our programs were designed to create an environment that brings girls together in a safe space to discuss the things that matter most to them at this stage of life. We recognize that some girls stumble through this stage, trying to figure out how to understand themselves and the world around them with little skills or support. We incorporate girls' hot topics into our teachings while providing them with a framework to navigate these challenging years ahead. Having a healthy foundation to build upon through your teen years has been a game changer for so many of our girls.

Some of the girls who attend our programs secretly suffer from anxiety, depression, struggle with friendships, or poor self-confidence. We have girls who may struggle to make solid friendships, trust others or find it hard to open up and ask for help. Some girls have anger issues or have resentment that is bottled up. And some are yearning to get comfortable in their changing bodies.

In addition to personal growth, our programs give girls opportunities to develop leadership skills. In a safe environment, we challenge them with strategy, communication, creativity, decision-making, self-advocacy, and teamwork experiences.

Our special guests are a big part of our experiential leadership development. We partner with successful women from our community who are passionate about introducing girls to their skills and expertise. These incredible opportunities provide experiences and connections to inspire their future endeavours.

Our philosophy is grounded in Neurolinguistic Programming, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Therapist Chloe Madannes, Tony Robbins, Brene Brown, Louise Hay, Byron Katie, Heart Math Institute, the Success Institute and many others. Our staff continues to grow and learn each year, improving our programming over the past 15 years.

Our programs have been vetted locally by youth organizations such as The Reach Out Centre for Kids, Nelson Youth Centre, Girl Guides of Canada and Children's Aid Society to name a few. Our programs have been taught in both Private and Public Elementary and Secondary Schools in Ontario, Quebec and Calgary, and Internationally in USA, Europe and Indonesia. And we offer internship opportunities for students in Child and Youth Development Programs at Humber and Brock University.

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Responsibility: In our program, we'll take girls through the responsibility of choosing parts of a cafe to create. They will choose a cafe name, theme, menu, and decor and have to take responsibility for working as a team to be ready for their "grand opening" celebration by the week's end.
  • Interpersonal skills: Girls will be challenged to work together as a team to create a cafe. They will need to divide up responsibilities, work collaboratively, solve problems, make creative decisions, work as a team to create and execute their cafe, and use leadership skills to present well at the "grand opening"!
