The Counsellor-In-Training (CIT) program is a two-week leadership training experience that provides opportunities for participants to focus on cooperative learning, leadership, and advanced development of coaching and instruction skills. 

Through peer-to-peer feedback, game-based skill development, and opportunities to lead younger camper groups, CITs become more well-rounded leaders and excellent candidates for future Camp Counsellor roles.  
With the help of their facilitators, CITs apply their skills in volunteer roles at camp, earning volunteer hours throughout their two weeks. 

While the CIT program is designed to build on concepts in the Leader-in-Training (LIT) program, participants are not required to have completed the LIT program before enrolling. 


Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Responsibility: Counsellors-in-Training gain experience providing supervision and leading camp activities for groups of younger campers, in roles of progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Interpersonal skills: Through group-based games, collaboration with camp staff, and development of intrapersonal awareness, Counsellors-in-Training sharpen their interpersonal skills to become the best versions of themselves.
