Literacy Programme

The Ridley College Summer Literacy Programme, in partnership with Empower Communication Services, is run by a registered Speech Language Pathologist who specializes in supporting children in pre-literacy skills, reading and writing. It is designed to support students in the five core areas of literacy using multi-sensory activities based on the science of reading.

Campers will explore phonics, phonological awareness, decoding and encoding through hands-on activities (sensory tables, movement activities, games etc.) We will ditch the traditional pen and paper and have FUN while learning the rules of reading! 

Teacher-to-student ratios will remain low at 1:6.

Dates:

• July 8th-12th: Grades 1-3 (6-9 years) – 12/group
• August 5th-9th: Grades 1-3 (6-9 years) – 12/group
• August 19th-23rd: Grades JK/SK (4-5 years) – 12/group

Times: 9:00a.m.-4:00p.m.

Cost: $600/week
