(5) Overall experience

Both of my kids had a great time and we are going back this summer (2025). If anything, I wish there were weeks offered as we could have potentially done multiple weeks. Enthusiasm about attending certainly increased through the week. What started out as skepticism from my 11-year-old, quickly turned to excitement about the content. I think this camp also encouraged my daughter to take a more active interest in science. For example, she asked Santa for a microscope for Christmas.

(5) Reason for choosing the camp

Both kids enjoy science and technology. The location was also very convenient for me for drop-off/pick-up. No hidden costs or surprises. I feel like it was a nice option for the middle of summer, to get their brains activated again in preparation for the start of school in September.

(5) Program quality and activities

For my kids the hands-on experiences were a big hit. They loved doing strawberry DNA. They also got a HUGE kick out of getting a lab coat, and another highlight was the trip to the Miller Museum. I can't recall exactly, but I think they also were given some gems, which both kids seemed to get really excited about.

(4.5) Social dynamics and experience

Although they did not go with friends and did not make new friends, I can say my kids both enjoyed their time socially while they were at camp. If there were any issues with respect to bullying and/or inclusion, they would have definitely let me know and that was not the case. Both of my kids can be reserved and somewhat shy and I know they had a good experience with the other participants.

(4.5) Skills and growth

The learning and social environment that was created at camp certainly made my kids feel comfortable. I could tell by their body language that they felt comfortable and confident while at camp. As alluded to in the earlier section, both of my kids can be reserved and shy, so they need the right environment to open up. Throughout the course of the week I could see their enthusiasm and confidence grow.

(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors

All of the communication in advance and during the sessions were positive and seamless. If I had any questions, they were addressed quickly and professionally. Communication was also proactive, which is also appreciated. The drop-off and pick-up experiences were also smooth, which I credit to the organization of the camp staff and counselors and management.

(5) Advice and tips

I can't say enough good things. Definitely worth trying this camp to see if it's a fit for your kids! The camp provides an educational experience where the kids can learn and explore their interest in STEM, while also having fun and making friends and connections. We will definitely be returning and have recommended this camp to other friends and family.
