(5) Overall experience

Prep Academy has been instrumental in supporting my three children with their academic development and successes over the past six years. I credit Prep Academy Tutors with helping my children develop their academic skills (i.e. math, science, reading comprehension, analysis, report writing, etc.) and building their confidence - which has supported them in reaching their full academic potential. I would recommend Prep Academy to any parent/student needing tutoring as they will be placed with an excellent and reliable tutor that meets their needs.

(5) Reason for choosing the program

Prep Academy has a deep pool of high-quality tutors covering all subject areas/specializations, grades and availability. Prep Academy is very familiar with the local schools (public and private) and the different curriculums/programs. When requesting a tutor, Prep Academy will take the time to ask thoughtful questions to understand your child's specific development needs and learning preferences to find a great match.

(5) Program quality and activities

We were matched with excellent tutors who were very knowledgeable and comfortable with the curriculums/programs - including IB (International Baccalaureate) level maths and sciences for my sons in grades 11-12 (e.g. functions & equations, calculus, trigonometry, algebra, etc.) Tutoring sessions are very efficient (often covering the week's homework) and valuable as the children increase their skills and confidence. The post-session recap emails from the tutor to the parent are very helpful so any ongoing areas of development can be further supported at school/home.

(5) Social dynamics and experience

All 3 of my children have formed strong relationships with their tutors from Prep Academy and feel very comfortable and supported by them. The Prep Academy staff/tutors have always been very respectful and professional in their interactions with my children and us (their parents). All of our experiences with the tutors from Prep Academy have been very positive. There have been no issues with any of the tutors.

(5) Skills and growth

My son's year 12 math grade increased by 1 IB grade (~10%) in one term. I believe his Prep Academy tutor played an important part in this academic achievement. He helped my son understand and be able to independently solve the most challenging IB math problems (level 6-7) to prepare for his tests and succeed during his test writing. My son has been accepted into a prestigious US university (Health Science) - and his math grades (supported by his tutor and teacher at school) certainly factored into this positive result.

(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors

There is strong communication between the family/student and Prep Academy, including weekly reminders about upcoming sessions and a (same day) post-session email from the tutor recapping what was covered and how it went. We also appreciate the flexibility in being able to re-schedule/cancel a session periodically based on our evolving schedules/needs. Prep Academy has also been super helpful in providing additional tutoring support on very short notice (i.e. over the weekend) when the occasional need has arisen.

(5) Advice and tips

I wish I had known about Prep Academy sooner! My first child started tutoring at the end of grade 9. Seeing the benefits that both my older sons got from their tutoring, I decided to start my daughter much earlier (grade 6). She looks forward to her tutoring sessions - which have been very valuable. She got perfect Es (Excellent) on her learning skills/work habits this term (for the first time). I believe this is attributed to greater enjoyment of her studies and pride in her academic development - supported by her Prep Academy tutor.
