Bright Sparks + Half-Day Activities

Ignite your curiosity in Bright Sparks! This half-day camp invites young inventors to explore the science of energy through hands-on experiments and creative projects. Campers will learn how different forms of energy work together to power our world while building exciting models and gadgets.

What to Expect:

  • Static Electricity & Conductors: Discover the shocking world of static electricity with fun experiments like making a hair-raising Van de Graaff generator and designing simple circuits.
  • Magnetism & Electromagnetic Energy: Explore how magnets and electromagnets generate energy, and build your own simple motors using copper wire and batteries.
  • Solar Panels & Energy Capture: Use small solar panels to power gadgets like fans and lights, and experiment with positioning to maximize energy efficiency.
  • Kinetic Energy Experiments: Learn about motion and energy transfer through marble runs, pendulum experiments, and catapult-building challenges.
  • Glow-in-the-Dark Chemistry: Dive into the world of chemical reactions and energy transformations by creating glow-in-the-dark slime and exploring bioluminescence.

The other half of each day will include outdoor activities such as sports, organized group games, nature walks, water-based fun, and creative free-play activities. While some activities may tie into energy science, the focus will be on keeping kids active, social, and engaged in playful outdoor experiences.

Join Bright Sparks for a week of discovery, hands-on experiments, and creative fun that will light up your love for science!
