Comic Creators + Half Day Activities

Step into the colorful world of Comic Creators, where young artists will focus on crafting their very own comic strips! This half-day camp emphasizes character development, creative writing, and the basics of comic storytelling.

What to Expect:

• Character Design: Create unique characters—from superheroes to silly animals—and bring them to life through expressive drawings inspired by books like Pete the Cat and Scaredy Squirrel.
• Comic Strip Creation: Design short comic strips using fun templates, learning how to combine images and words for captivating stories, taking cues from Narwhal & Jelly and Fly Guy.
• Storytelling Through Art: Use speech bubbles, sound effects, and visual storytelling techniques to make your comics pop, drawing inspiration from The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss.
• Create a Superhero: Invent your own superhero or villain, complete with powers, costumes, and backstories, inspired by quirky characters like Super Potato.
• Storyboard Adventures: Plan out a multi-panel comic adventure with a beginning, middle, and end, using storyboards to map out your plot—just like in The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch.

The other half of each day will include a variety of outdoor activities such as sports, organized group games, nature walks, water-based fun, and creative free play. While some activities may tie into comic book themes, the focus will be on keeping kids active, social, and engaged in outdoor fun.
