Dive into the wild world of animals and nature with Animal Planet, an exciting ESL camp designed for curious learners aged 10-12! Explore Vancouver’s diverse wildlife and ecosystems while building your English skills through hands-on activities, creative projects, and thrilling field trips. From the depths of the ocean to the forests of the Pacific Northwest, every day is a new adventure where campers will discover the wonders of the natural world while practicing English in a fun and supportive environment.

What to Expect:

  • Day 1: Exploring Vancouver’s Marine Life
Visit the Vancouver Aquarium or explore local beaches to discover the amazing marine life that calls Vancouver home. Learn vocabulary related to sea creatures, practice describing marine habitats, and participate in fun ocean-themed activities.
  • Day 2: Forests and Wildlife of the Pacific Northwest
Take a field trip to a local forest, like Pacific Spirit Park, to learn about the rich biodiversity of the Pacific Northwest. Campers will practice forest-related vocabulary, read nature stories, and write their own descriptive paragraphs inspired by their outdoor adventures.
  • Day 3: Birds of Vancouver
Go birdwatching in beautiful locations like Olympic Village or Hinge Park, learning about the different bird species that live in Vancouver. Campers will expand their vocabulary, practice using the present simple and continuous tenses, and participate in fun reading activities about birds.
  • Day 4: Urban Wildlife
Discover the surprising wildlife that thrives in Vancouver’s urban areas, from raccoons and squirrels to coyotes and skunks. Campers will learn urban wildlife vocabulary, explore local parks, and write stories about their encounters with city animals.
  • Day 5: Conservation in Action
Wrap up the week by learning about endangered species in British Columbia and how to protect them. Campers will visit places like Stanley Park or Queen Elizabeth Park, practice using demonstrative pronouns (this, that, these, those), and present their own conservation projects.
