Be prepared for a life changing experience!

The LIT (Leaders in Training) program at Pioneer Camp is one of the most unique youth and transformational leadership development programs in Ontario. It’s dual focus on instructional and participation based leadership activities have helped developed passionate and competent young Christian leaders for almost 60 years.

The LIT program is a four week, co-ed program that is designed to help young people grow into extraordinary Christian leaders, training and equipping them to be leaders at camp, home, school and in their church communities.

The first two weeks of LIT are an intensive time of learning and development. You’ll go on a challenging 4-day canoe trip and have many hands-on opportunities to develop your skills, leadership abilities, and grow in your faith through leading games, teaching sessions, Bible studies, and small group discussions. During this training period you will be mentored by our staff who are committed Christian leaders. The final two weeks, students will co-lead a chalet with an experienced staff member, gaining practical leadership experience in leading daily camp programs and instructing campers in a particular skill or activity while receiving one to one mentoring throughout the experience.

To register go to www.pioneercampontario.ca or call 1-800-361-CAMP (2267).

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Religious faith: The LIT program includes worship, Bible teaching and discussions that challenge participants to explore their relationship with God and become a disciple of Jesus in their life and leadership.
  • Resilience: Participants will be challenged in terms of endurance, community life, intellectual discussion and camp leadership skills.
