Onondaga Camp is one of the oldest camps in the country. It was established by Keith Crowther, a staff member of Upper Canada College, and was moved to its current site in 1931, and it’s been co-ed since 1975. There’s a lot of history, and the current owners, all past campers, bought the camp in 1992 and have since developed the property, including a new dining hall completed in 2004. While the site may not show its age in the way that other camps might, the program continues to reflect the ideals that were established with the founding of the camp all those years ago. Traditional activities have been augmented over the years, including high ropes, wakeboarding, and a driving range for golf instruction. The breadth of programming is a draw, both for campers looking to further develop their skills, as well as those interested in trying new things. The board of directors includes three past directors, which, in addition to Duncan Robertson’s 25 years at Onondaga Camp, offers a nice continuity to the maintenance and development of the camp experience.
Leading our entire program is Camp Director and part owner, Duncan Robertson, who can call upon over 30 years worth of experience as a camper, staff member and director. Duncan has been actively involved with the Ontario Camps Association, serving as a board member for five years. He is also a board member of the Society of Camp Directors, and has given presentations on many topics over the years at provincial, national and international camping conferences. He is supported by an active Board of Directors: David Hadden, David Lever and Michael Moore, each of whom has been a director of the camp in the past.

More details about property: Sleeping quarters at Onondaga Camp are comfortable and rustic in a peaceful woodland or lakeside setting. Our younger campers (6-12/13 years old) stay in large wooden cabins that sleep eight or ten with two staff members in an adjoining separate room. All cabins are fully modernized with sink and flush toilet facilities. Campers 13 years and older, stay in one of the many tents along our signature tent line that runs around the mouth of the bay. They sleep on bunk beds in large canvas tents, supported by wooden platform and frame The tents are weatherproof and sleep six campers. There are centralized washroom facilities nearby, complete with individual shower stalls.
