Lone Prairie Camp's main focus is on our summer camp program which includes onsite camps for grades 1-12, and even a family camp weekend. Our facilities are also available year-round to various groups which have included boy's & girl's clubs, family reunions, youth groups, school groups, etc.
Lone Prairie Camp is committed to facilitating life-changing encounters with the Triune God in an accessible environment distinct from that of normal day-to-day experience. Providing an environment where parents know their children are safe is a top priority. To this end, we seek to meet (and in many areas exceed) government and Alberta Camping Association standards.

Kids get out of their comfort zone at Lone Prairie Camp, a faith-based camp. With many activities, safety is their first priority. You can see this in everything they do from archery, bushcraft, climbing, slip and slide, trampolines and more. What’s truly unique about this camp is that they are facilitators of life-changing experiences with the Triune God. They hope to equip people to a life of service to their family, their church and community. Their facilities are year-round, so winter camping is definitely an option. There are camps for various ages and a very popular family camp, where bonding is mandatory. Technology is always left at home, so campers can get the full experience without the interruptions of screens and home life. Even in their cabins, campers feel quite comfortable, almost like they are at home. Leaving their comfort zone doesn’t mean uncomfortable at Lone Prairie Camp.

Thank you LPC for making my week there so special
Felt a personal connection with God while I was there. The staff is so friendly and relatable. Thank you LPC for making my week there so special.
Legendary!
Legendary place so many great memories, I keep going back every summer home to the world famous and greatest dish of all time an absolute delicacy hash brown casserole
I graduated from the University of Alberta in 2010 with a Bachelor in Engineering Physics and am currently completing a Masters of Divinity degree through The Canadian Baptist Seminary (CBS, part of ACTS).
I took a year between my first and second years of university to serve street children with ACTION Zambia and ACTION Uganda. Unless we hear differently, my wife Sarah and I will be heading overseas after I graduate to serve in long-term missions.
But throughout all my other commitments, the ministry of Lone Prairie Camp has captured my being again and again. I am excited to be serving as Camp Director and have also been a CLT, Support Staff, Maintenance, Cabin Leader, Boat Driver, Special Projects, Program Director…If there is a position at camp, I’ve probably held it at some point :)
At Lone Prairie Camp we are exited to have a staff of all ages, from excited teens, vibrant young adults and even Camp Grandparents! We love being a place where the whole family can come together! Stillness. Arms up. In awe.
"How deep the Father's love for us..."
I remember standing at the front of the chapel, crying as I clutched onto my guitar. I couldn't even sing anymore. Watching children sing at the top of their lungs, arms stretched out, eyes closed, or praying silently... there was so much power there. He was present. These children's voices shook the chapel and the hearts of all the staff.
Sometimes we believe we have a lot to teach children, that we inherently will be role models. Although that isn't completely untrue, children can sometimes be the best role models. They can be so unwavering in their love for God, innocent and free of alternate agendas.
When you send your kids to camp, we learn from them too.
I love camp because it was always a safe environment .. and it was tons of fun. As a camper you were free, and in fact encouraged, to be yourself without the staff judging you. Cabin leaders and support staff were always so excited to get to meet you, making you feel very important! When staff would remember you, it made you feel like you really mattered to them, and often times the returning staff did remember. The activities were also so much fun! - rock climbing was always my favorite, and when I was young the mud pitt was always a hit! Another thing I love about camp is that it taught me some really useful life lessons, like how to live, and get along with other people. As well, I got to meet tons of new people who have become life-long friends. Camp was also a great place to learn about God, and the great things he does in peoples lives. As a camper and as a staff member, camp was always a major influence on my walk with God. Devo’s were always interesting, and CLT meetings/campfires really encouraged me to take my faith into my own hands. I don’t think I would be where I am today in my spiritual walk without the guidance of the staff, and campers I met through LPC.
LPC provides a great venue for youth to gain valuable Christian leadership experience . Youth who attend LPC build relationships that extend far beyond the summer months. In short, camp is a major positive influence on the life of our Youth.
Camp is the place where I first encountered a mentor figure that really cared for me and pointed me to God. It’s the place where I first discovered true fellowship instead of the coffee variety, encountering God away from the concrete jungle of a city, and the idea of knowing and loving Jesus. I’ve seen 9 summers, both as a camper and a staff, with a different team each year. The personnel may change drastically, but God is the Great I am, and He continues to use us to transform kids’ lives.
