Students will develop leadership skills through hands-on work experiences with LCS Summer Academy Programs and simultaneously earn a high school credit. Throughout the day, students will have in-class time exploring factors that affect success in the work environment, exploring their strengths, refining their job search and employability skills for future employment, and then have time to apply their learnings through work with campers from other Summer Academy programs. They will be able to choose to work toward their Bronze Medallion or ORCKA flatwater Canoeing levels 1 through 4. There will be an opportunity to apply to be a Day Camp Junior Counsellor with LCS Summer Academy after the successful completion of this program. This opportunity will only be available to students ages 16+.

Online: July 2 - July 12 | On Campus: July 14 - August 1



Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Responsibility: This program will help students consider ways to think about group dynamics as they apply principles learned in the program to a real-life situation in LCS Summer Academy & Programs.
  • Resilience: As students explore their future interests and destinations, they will continue to chart a path toward their goals learning to overcome obstacles and challenges.
