My shy little one blossomed from day one onwards at this beautiful outdoor adventure camp. She literally ran from the car every morning when we arrived, so excited for another day of swimming, fort building, forest adventures, sand play, sporting and tons of play on the beautiful play structure with new friends. She begged to go back this year and I’m excited to send her for another beautiful adventure led by trusted teens and adults. And let’s not forget the snack shack! The highlight of every day! Thank you to Kids Inc for making memories in this traditional outdoorsy kids paradise. Can’t wait for the next adventure! 😊
I chose Kids Inc after having the opportunity to swing by for a visit. The moment I stepped out of the car I knew it was the right place for my daughter. I saw smiling faces everywhere and loved the outdoor immersion. It felt like a beautifully controlled freedom. Kids were safe but were given the leeway to choose their adventure, run through the forest, swim in the man-made pond and come home dirty, tired and happy at the end of the day. It was well worth the price and we’re excited to repeat the experience again this year.
My child loves the outdoors, water and adventure, so this was the perfect place for her. She especially loved building forts in the forest and archery. She also had fun singing and the snack shack was a big deal. I believe this camp has been running for many years and they have truly perfected the art of summer camp. The grounds are amazing right down to the spotless washrooms. You can tell this has been a labour of love♥️.
My daughter was quite attached to a few of the camp counsellors and had tons of fun with the other kids. She’s normally a bit shy but that disappeared after day one. There was no indication that there was any bullying. I felt that there were enough leaders around that any issues would have been spotted quickly and dealt with.
My daughter’s confidence grew and her independence. Children were allowed to choose their activities and move between their activities of choice freely at given times. I felt this contributed to her autonomy and put her in charge of her own experience. Being outdoors all day was fantastic as it took her away from her technology and gave her a fresh love of nature.
We were instructed to choose and indicate our daily arrival time. We stopped just long enough for our daughter to leave the car. This made for an easy drop-off and great security. She connected with counsellors and was excited to see them. We were never aware of any conflicts and the staff were fun, polite and friendly. They happily answered any questions we had and were super welcoming.
My advice… sunscreen, bug spray, lots of sleep as the days are busy and don’t worry! There is lots of safety in place and big adventures to be had. Make sure they dress got the weather as all day is outdoors. There is a huge shaded shelter, but Dunbar is a must. Encourage your child to try everything as there are so many adventures to be had. And a little spare change for the snack shack!
