(5) Overall experience
My daughter loves attending. She is happy to go and happy while she is there. She loves her teacher. She has learned so much and improved after every lesson. She has gained so much confidence. She was always terrified to have water in her face. After one lesson she was jumping into the pool without goggles and putting her face in the water to blow bubbles. She was also swimming unassisted within a few lessons. She feels so proud of herself.
(5) Reason for choosing the camp
The location and times are convenient. The price is completely worth it for the high quality of instruction. I was tired of swim lessons with low-quality instructors they felt like a waste of time. These lessons I can book any time that is good for us and I know I'm going to have a high-quality teacher and get good value for my money.
There are no hidden costs or extra fees and they even offer free makeup classes if you miss one which is so handy since my kid is always getting sick.
(5) Program quality and activities
The lessons are perfect for any age. My 5/6 year old had so much fun she didn’t realize how much she was learning. There were also older students in the pool having a lesson totally appropriate for their age, so it’s good for everyone. The swim pak floaty is ingenious and gives them such confidence. Basically they keep removing pieces of foam so the floaty does less work and the swimmer does more. It’s a great gradual approach to removing the floaty.
(5) Social dynamics and experience
Everyone is always so nice and friendly. My daughter loves her coach and feels so comfortable with her. The other staff at the pool are very nice too.
For us it is not a very peer-to-peer social experience since her class size is so small but I love the small class sizes and it helps keep her focused.
(5) Skills and growth
My child went from not liking swimming and being unwilling to get in the pool to jumping in unassisted, swimming lengths of the pool and having a wonderful time. We now have so much fun swimming with her and can actually have fun with her in the pool now.
She really pushed herself outside of her comfort zone with the help of her coach.
(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors
Everyone who works at jack of sports is nice, kind, friendly and good at their jobs. Our coach Andy is so good with kids and made my daughter feel so safe and comfortable. The admin is always there to answer questions and help us out. I love that I can book in for makeup classes if we do miss any.
(5) Advice and tips
They have weekly swim lessons and also summer camp and march break camp so you can do swim lessons intensives. The kids learn so much in those intensive weeks.
I will be signing up for more programs for sure. They even offer first aid and lifeguard courses.
My kid wears a wetsuit in the water because sometimes it feels a bit chilly.
