They're a dynamic team of experienced educators (from a range of fields) and avid cyclists who are familiar, curious and passionate about Toronto. Selected for their expertise in urban exploration and passion for teaching, they bring a blend of safety, knowledge, kindness, and enthusiasm to our programs. Our counselors are more than guides; they're mentors who inspire curiosity and confidence in navigating city life. They ensure each day is packed with learning and discovery, tailored to engage and challenge our campers.

    Get on your bike and go. The Hidden City Day Camp is a very unique program for kids in the city of Toronto. Terrence Eta founded Toronto Bicycle Tours & Events to tell the stories of Torontians using his favourite method of transportation—his bike. The Hidden City Day Camp emerged from this as a natural step wanting young people to experience the same thing. The city is full of interesting places and inspiring people and he wanted to show kids the love the city has to offer. The team at Hidden City Day Camp are experienced bicyclists and tour guides. Groups are small with only five kids per leader, which helps ensure everyone is safe while touring the city. What’s unique about this program is that no one day is the same at this camp. The destinations might change, the people definitely will be different, and what you can learn is always new.

    Camp was a hit!

    This was the only camp my 10yo and 12yo agreed to sign up for together, and it was a huge hit! They both came home happy each day with stories about the cool places they'd explored and the distance they'd biked (up to 20km) over the day.     Wonderful Camp!

    Wonderful camp! My two daughters attending this camp for the first time this summer and have been begging me to go back next year. The counsellors were friendly and outgoing and the daily trips they attended were very exciting. I liked the fact that not only did they exhaust themselves from biking around the city all day, they were also able to experience riding the TTC. Would highly recommend ... Show More

    I had a number of favourite activities, and there was weren't many experiences that I didn't enjoy. I loved my counselors, they made me feel welcome and really helped me to improve my skills.     Director's Message

    I founded Toronto Bicycle Tours & Events in 2011.  Starting a bicycle tour company brought together two of my favourite things – riding a bike and exploring my hometown.

    Over the years we have hosted tours for thousands of guests of all ages and abilities from around the world, including many young people and school aged groups.  We’ve earned a number of awards for the experiences that we create for those who ride with us.

    As my experience guiding groups grew I realized that my real satisfaction came from helping our guests to connect with the city and to understand it better – telling the stories of Torontonians and showing them places that make the city what it is.

    Launching the Hidden City Day Camp was a natural step for us – where we share our love for Toronto with young people, help them to see some of the inner workings of the city, and introduce them to inspiring people who make the city go.  Our hope is that their love for the city and connection with it grows, and that they start to consider how they can make a difference today and in the future.

    And, of course, going by bike and seeing the city at ground level, block by block is a perfect fit for our camp.  We use cycling to stitch the stories and locations together.

    Our team’s experience includes many years of leading groups around Toronto (of course!), and many years of experience running daycamps.  I’m excited about the unique program that we’ve assembled, and am looking forward to sharing what we’ve created with young Torontonians.
