Our camps are a wonderful opportunity for budding photographers to develop their skills while exploring all the natural beauty our various camp locations have to offer!

Campers will spend time outdoors each day on guided photo walks, playing outdoor games, and other nature activities. Campers will also learn how to edit their images, create a slideshow, and take it all home when camp is over.

Each camper will be provided with their own camera and a laptop for photo editing. They may bring their own camera if they are familiar with its use. They should also bring a cleared USB memory stick to save and take home their best photos.

A typical day at camp starts with a slideshow about a new photography lesson. Campers will then go outside to practice this new style of photography on a guided nature walk. In the afternoon campers will get a chance to edit their photos and go back outside to play nature-themed games and activities. Campers will also get time dedicated to a fun nature-themed craft that they will get to take home at the end of the week.

For health and safety, all equipment will be sanitized before use. Our camp staff have completed a Police Records Check for Vulnerable Sector and all have their first aid and CPR C-level training completed.

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Creativity: We believe that people are inherently creative, and we will provide opportunities for people to explore and express their creativity through photography and arts. Focus on Nature sees a critical role for the arts in enticing youth to get outside and explore nature.
  • Curiosity: We are excited to see the potential for using photography as a means to monitor changes in ecosystems and teach children about the natural world around them. Our programs help nurture the natural curiosity a child has.
