Public Speaking

In-Person and Online Learning
For Vancouver-based students who wish to attend Public Speaking classes at our Vancouver academy – we are looking forward to having you! All other students (both within BC and around the world) may take virtual lessons via Zoom.

Public Speaking at FDT Academy
Unlike Debate, Public Speaking isn’t always about proving a point. Instead, our speech lessons teach students how to become comfortable with preparing to write, edit, and deliver speeches for a variety of purposes. Our students and instructors have competed in and won provincial and national competitions, while several have gone on to represent Canada at the World’s Individual Public Speaking and Debate Championships. Being able to persuade people through public speaking helps with interviews, paper writing, research, presenting, and most importantly developing critical thinking abilities that allow debaters to reach high levels of success in all aspects of their lives.

Our Public Speaking program is open to all students with any level of experience!

Private Lessons
FDT offers one-on-one private Public Speaking lessons, providing students with an opportunity to work on individual challenges and receive unique attention for longer periods of time. Private lessons allow students to spend more time working on individualized strategies and are an excellent way to prepare for competitions.
