Activities: Teens will learn essential skills for hosting and helping with holiday gatherings, focusing on creating a warm and welcoming environment for guests.

Highlights:

1. Holiday Card Crafting:
– Design and create elegant holiday cards with personal messages.
– Learn about the importance of handwritten notes and how to express holiday wishes thoughtfully.

2. Table Setting and Decoration:
– Learn how to set a formal holiday table, including placing utensils, plates, glasses, and napkins correctly.
– Create and arrange centerpieces, place cards, and table decorations that reflect the holiday spirit.

3. Greeting Guests and Making Small Talk:
– Practice welcoming guests at the door with confidence and warmth.
– Role-play scenarios to develop small talk skills, focusing on being a gracious host and making guests feel comfortable.
– Learn tips on how to introduce guests to each other and keep conversations flowing.

4. Hosting Etiquette:
Understand the basics of good manners during a holiday gathering, including offering refreshments, managing seating arrangements, and attending to guests’ needs.
– Discuss how to handle common hosting challenges, such as guests arriving early or late.

5. Holiday-Themed Snack Preparation:
– Prepare and present simple holiday snacks, such as cheese platters, fruit arrangements, and festive beverages.
– Learn how to serve and offer food in a polite and considerate manner.

6. Cleaning and Tidying Up:
– Learn efficient techniques for cleaning before and after a gathering, focusing on areas that guests notice most.
– Create a checklist for tidying up the space and how to delegate tasks effectively to family members.

End-of-Day Activity:
– A “Mock Holiday Gathering” where teens put their skills to the test by hosting a mini event. They’ll greet each other, set up a holiday table, serve snacks, and practice making conversation in a relaxed, fun environment.

This workshop will equip teens with valuable life skills that will help them contribute meaningfully to holiday preparations and any future gatherings they may host.
