(5) Overall experience
Our son has always been a very shy, timid, and quiet boy. We started him at Elite when he was 6 years old. For the last two years, he has been playing in the academy, EABA. My husband and I noticed very quickly during his first year how much his confidence and self-esteem grew. The coaches at EABA didn’t just teach our son the skills and techniques of basketball and how to be a good player but also how to be a good person.
(5) Reason for choosing the camp
We have put our son in other basketball camps before but Elite Camp stood out by far. We are blown away by the coaches and how dedicated they are to each player. We were so happy with our son’s first year in the academy, that we definitely think it was worth the investment to continue this year. We even started our younger daughter in the weekly program this year!
(5) Program quality and activities
Our son thoroughly enjoyed the itinerary, which combined fundamental skill development with playing basketball in a game setting. The coaches and program design made the learning process both engaging and enjoyable. As a result, our son not only experienced exceptional skill development but also had a great time! We appreciated the thoughtful planning behind every skill taught, which underscored the importance of learning the fundamentals, a key factor in his positive experience.
(5) Social dynamics and experience
Our son formed meaningful connections at Elite camp, even meeting his best friend there. The coaches emphasized the importance of positive sportsmanship, instilling the values of teamwork, inclusivity, and serving as a model both on and off the court. Our son looks forward to practices because he is excited to be with his friends and the coaches. He always leaves a practice with a big smile.
(5) Skills and growth
Before attending EABA, our son’s basketball fundamentals were not well-developed. The academy provided him with comprehensive instructions in essential techniques such as dribbling, shooting, and improving court awareness on both offense and defense. Like many young players, he initially struggled with more advanced skills, including dribbling between his legs, dribbling backward, and shooting with proper form. However, after a year of dedicated participation (4 hours of practice a week), we noticed a remarkable improvement in every aspect of his game and therefore we decided to continue the academy this year at Elite.
(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors
The first thing that stood out to my husband and me is the exceptional coaching staff at Elite camp. Each coach demonstrated not only expertise in fundamental skills but also an impressive ability to support and connect with every child. The coaching staff at Elite is what sets the program apart, making it truly unique and special. Their dedication and skills are the primary reasons behind our son’s remarkable improvement and the key factor in our decision to return to Elite every year.
(5) Advice and tips
I highly recommend Elite Camp to any parent seeking a basketball program that emphasizes teaching fundamentals the right way. My advice is to trust the process and allow the coaches to work their magic. Consistent attendance is the key; the more your child participates, the greater their improvement and growth as a player will be. My husband and I are grateful for what Elite has done for our son.
