Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Independence: Learning how to feed oneself is an essential lifeskill, and at COOKSMART we break down each step in the process of creating a recipe so that even young children can master their own level of independence, and develop the confidence they can prepare food in a way that they will enjoy healthy eating.
  • Self-regulation: Cooking and preparing food takes a great deal of executive functioning and organizing. Perfect way to get children engaged in using their higher functions, by planning the food, setting out the tools, and implementing the recipe step by step. Enjoying their homemade food is rewarding for everyone!
