We live in an automated world. Have you ever wondered how everything around us today is SMART? In this camp you will take a deep dive in to the world of SMARTS's and prototype our very own SMART Space.

Solution Topic

  • In your perfect bedroom what cool tech features would you add to make your life easier?
  • Build a SMART automated home of 21st century. What technological features can improve your life

Design , Experiment, Build

  • Learn the engineering process
  • ideate and brainstorm your perfect space
  • Learn the engineering process
  • Learn the basics of mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Learn the basics of programming in TinkerCAD and Blockly 
  • Learn basic circuitry with Arduino
  • Build and present 

Students will learn:

  • Engineering process
  • Design Thinking process
  • Prototype design
  • Circuits Basic
  • Programming basic
  • Arduino platform
  • 3-D Design and Printing
  • Presentation skills

Students will make:

  • Students can choose between the following projects:
    • SMART DOLL HOUSE
    • SMART BEDROOM
  • Students will engineer a prototype of a smart space
  • Students will build a complete automated model of their space

Students will take home:

  • Entire project
  • Arduino uno board
  • sensors (LDR, clap switch, PIR)
  • Leds
  • Other electrical components
  • Other maker components

Students will visit:

  • Students will either visit Science centre on Friday or will be visited by a tech company for expo


Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Resilience: When young kids learn to code, they become problem solvers and develop critical thinking. With any problem solving, children have to stay with the problem long enough to find meaning solutions. Coding develops a child's ability to develop perseverance and resilience as they create fun projects.
  • Creativity: Code-it Hacks Inquiry and play-based summer camps ensures that technology is used towards solving a real-life problem that is out of the box. Each camp demands students to engage in fun group-based activities to develop creative solutions all while having a blast with crafts and technology.
