STEM Camp is where fun and learning meet, with awesome activities that encourage campers to explore their sense of wonder, promote discovery, reward curiosity, and leave them amazed at what they can do! STEM Camp is a not-for-profit day camp founded in 2013, with over 50 locations in Ontario and 3 in British Columbia.

Each camp week features a theme for an extra layer of fun - and July 2-5, our theme is Minions! This week and every week, campers will be exposed to awesome activities involving coding, robotics, science experiments, engineering builds and so much more.

Our favourite yellow friends are back in action at STEM Camp! And they’re up to more Minion Mayhem…which we love. Campers will help Gru alongside Kevin and the gang, as we use our new coding skills to have some fun in Dr. Nefario’s lab by creating step counters and heart rate trackers with micro:bits. We’ll build Minions in Minecraft and then race to find their beloved BA-NA-NAS at the end of a maze. We’ll work with Dr. Nefario to build our own Minion-bots while we learn about circuits, and so much more.

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

Curiosity: Through activities, campers are presented with a challenge and a goal to achieve - but aren’t given a direct path for how to get to that goal. They have the pleasure and fun of using their own curiosity to discover things, learn things, and find new ways of solving a particular problem - their way!
Creativity: What happens if I do this? Or what will change if I do that? Campers use their creativity to solve problems, and learn that failure is just more information to help answer what they could try next. In both the real and digital worlds, campers stretch their creative muscles all day long at STEM Camp!
