This course offers a comprehensive introduction to game design principles, utilizing Microsoft’s MakeCode Arcade. Students will explore the essentials of game design, craft playful characters, build gameplay mechanics, and even develop their own game level. By the end of the course, each student will have a unique game ready to be played.
By the end of this course, you will have designed and developed a fully functional, custom Mario-style game with unique characters, levels, and game mechanics. You’ll be able to share your game with others and continue building on your newfound game design skills.
This course is perfect for students interested in learning the basics of game design and coding, particularly those who enjoy games like Mario. No prior coding experience is required.
Any Windows or Mac computer or iPad released after 2020 will be suitable for this course.
