Senior campers can join Wenonah's ROOTS program, tailored for 15-year-olds not yet in leadership roles. This program encourages campers to engage in decision-making with experienced staff, focusing on group experiences and skill development. Highlights include intensive instruction in activities like canoeing, kayaking, sailing, and climbing, along with a multi-night canoe trip. Participants can also facilitate Camp events and earn certifications like Bronze Medallion. Evening fireside discussions foster community and reflection, enhancing the overall camp experience.
Character Development: This program helps build the following traits
Independence: At Wenonah, campers are celebrated for who they are and encouraged to explore new challenges. They discover new passions and build confidence as they step outside their comfort zones. With support, they learn that with determination and self-belief, they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
Physicality: Participants are challenge to enhance their physical skills through training in canoeing, climbing, swimming, kayaking, and sailing. This month-long experience culminates in a week-long canoe trip to Algonquin Park, allowing campers to apply their skills in a dynamic outdoor setting.
