At Camp STEAM, not only are the projects campers work on unique – including giving them opportunities to work with tools like 3D printers, software and robotics – but the approach we use is also very unique, and for good reason.

Camp STEAM was founded to revolutionize the way we think about, pursue and achieve STEAM knowledge, to contribute as a solution to Canada’s workforce shortage issues in those areas, as well as Canada’s ability to be a leader in global innovation. Campers are our future workforce, and to meet these new challenges, they will need new approaches and ways of thinking – Camp STEAM seeks to teach them just that…all while having an amazing and fun summer experience!

Every week of Camp STEAM features fun and educational projects, wrapped in that week’s theme. There are 4 themes with unique programming that each run twice throughout the summer:

Minecraft: Designers | July 2-5 & July 29-August 2
LEGO: Inventors | July 8-12 & August 6-9
Minecraft: Builders | July 15-19 & August 12-16
LEGO: Engineers | July 22-26 & Aug 19-23

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Creativity: A STEAM educational perspective considers a challenge from a science, technology, engineering, artistic and mathematical point of view, while using a camper’s own curiosity and unique way of thinking, to solve a particular problem. Campers learn a whole new way to think creatively!
  • Curiosity: STEAM education also leverages a problem-based learning environment. Campers are presented with a problem, and instead of teaching them how something should be done or is supposed to work, they are given the opportunity to use their natural curiosity to discover what could be possible!
